Gaming, cocktails, live music, and vegan street food debut
A dive bar with a twist debuted on the eastside, combining all the elements of a classic weathered venue, but upgraded with a vegan menu, curated design, and the promise of live locally sourced entertainment.
Gia and Todd Schultz of The Modern Vegan created Taco Dive Bar a mile to the north, serving a range of beers, cocktails, and a Mexican street food-inspired menu.
The restaurant replaces the 2,400-square-foot former Motor City Cafe bar at the Rodeo Paradise retail center at the interaction of Paradise and Flamingo Roads, across the parking lot from Morton’s The Steakhouse and next door to the now shuttered Gandhi India’s Cuisine.
Featuring video gaming on the bar-top, a pool table, and a side room equipped with a small raised stage for live music or a DJ, the bar was decorated from floor-to-ceiling by local graffiti artists and mural experts The ISI Group.
Among the menu options, elote, quesadillas, a Tijuana baked potato, nachos, chalupas, taco bowls, birria, churro funnel cakes, a customizable roster of street tacos, and a combination burger and torta dubbed the “burta.”
Taco Dive Bar, 4080 Paradise Road, 702-888-1680. Currently open daily from 4 p.m. to midnight.
